Middle East Studies
The minor in Middle East studies at Northeastern is an interdisciplinary program, drawing on courses in international affairs, political science, history, philosophy, sociology, anthropology, and modern languages. The program provides a foundation of knowledge in the Middle East & North Africa (Arab World, Israel, Iran, and Turkey) as well as to enhance students' understanding of European and American interactions with this culturally diverse and politically important region of the world.
Students are expected to take advantage of any of the following experiential education opportunities: study abroad programs in Egypt, our partnership with Hebrew College, and the "Dialogue of Civilizations" programs (faculty-led summer programs) in Egypt, Turkey, Cyprus, Israel and Palestine.
